HERBAL TREATMENT
Herbal treatment works best alongside dietary changes. We may need to support mucus membranes, the respiratory and immune systems, and possibly the digestive system. The focus will vary for each person. A classic herbal prescription for sinusitis includes antimicrobial, anticatarrhal, astringent and anti-inflammatory, lymphatic herbs. If fever is one of the symptoms diaphoretics are indicated.
Some classical examples are Goldenseal, Elder flower, Echinacea, Baptisia (Wild indigo), Plantain, Goldenrod and more. Supportive herbs like adaptogens are helpful for the long term. For severe pain, analgesic herbs can provide quick relief.
